#niadiaries vol. 2 – rainy day chronicles

Things are starting to turn. It’s interesting how your life starts to change when you truly believe it will, and that you deserve it. I’ve always heard that insanity is when you do the same action and expect different results. Over the past week I’ve been slowly altering my actions. Slow change is what I specialize in. It’s easier to bring about habit that way for me.

A couple job opportunities have sprung up and I’m mad excited. Everything’s not set in stone yet, but hopefully next week I can come to y’all with some solid concrete accomplishments. But, ya girl is trying y’all. That’s all I can do at this point: try.

Yesterday, I went to the local mall. Sometimes a little retail therapy is just want a girl needs to clear her mind. I can’t lie; it made my heart soar when I found a super cute strapless dress from H&M for $10 bucks!!! It’s very fall; very third season of American Horror Story. I’m very much with the look. Still on the hunt for that perfect leather jacket though.

Speaking of American Horror Story, I’m so pumped for the next season. I couldn’t believe how much hated last season (it had a lot to do with the format). But, I have high hopes for this one. I just watched the first trailer last week, and it’s looking like the season surrounds a cult that springs up (headed by the beautiful and talented Evan Peters) after Donald Trump becomes president. It’s interesting how life imitates art. Almost to a T. The season premiere, is I believe a week or two away. That’s at the top of my list for fall TV for sure.

Side Note: I can’t WAIT for Halloween season. It’s literally my second favorite season next to the dead heat of August (my birthday). Bring on the spooky scary skeletons and the haunted houses and the candy corn. I have an idea for what I want my costume to be, and it deals with a particular 90s cartoon movie. Hopefully I’ll be able to pull it off when the time comes. I’ll give y’all a clue: the red wig will make or break the costume.

There’s so much excitement in my heart for the future now. I still have that nervousness, but at least now it has something strong to accompany it.

Love, Nia Simone
